Welcome to this webpage, dedicated to sailing yacht VPP use and development. This web page provides ready to use VPPs for conventional yachts and a couple of proprietary VPPs for particular boat types, for example for the Nacra 17 or for a generalized dinghy. In addition some building blocks for VPP development are used, available for interested parties who do their own VPP developments.
General purpose VPP for cruiser/racer yachts: CVPP is a fully featured VPP for conventional c/r yachts. It features an easy to use GUI and graphical output ready to be imported into any type of report. Please visit the page dedicated to CPP using the menu above.
New VPP for the Nacra 17 Olympic catamaran: This is the most recent publication of a VPP. It is a Matlab(C) prototype, allowing to predict flying and non-flying states of the Nacra 17 including transition from one state to the other. Access via the menu above.
Prototype methods: The prototype methods which could be downloaded here in the past, are still available. Just go to the “Prototype Methods” page. This page still offers information, methods, programs and code for flow forces and velocity prediction of sailing yachts, sailing dinghies, mono- and multihull, foiling or non-foiling. The information provided is intended to be used by engineers and scientists, who already have a solid understanding of sailing yacht velocity prediction and related technics.
